The mission of the Gulf Coast Preservation Society is to restore, preserve and protect the rich marine habitat of the Gulf of Mexico by disseminating scientifically accurate information and vital research relevant to finding solutions to the leading environmental issues affecting the Gulf and its residents.
Our goals:

- Reverse "Dead Zone" growth

Who we are
The Gulf Coast Preservation Society is a nonprofit, 501c3 educational organization that was founded to inform people about the major environmental threats facing the Gulf of Mexico, and to find solutions to these problems.
The Society works with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Research Institute, the Ocean Conservancy, Jean-Michel Cousteau's Ocean Futures Society, as well as other nonprofit organizations and community minded businesses that are dedicated to maintaining a clean, healthy marine and coastal environment in the Gulf of Mexico.
In addition we focus on educational outreach regarding all environmental issues affecting the Gulf of Mexico and its residents.
Research and awareness
One of the main priorities of the Society and its partners is dedication to research that will help us to better understand the natural and man made factors that influence the growth of the 'Dead Zone' and red tide problems over the past decade, but also to minimize and mitigate the health effects of these phenomena to humans and marine life.
The Gulf Coast Preservation Society is a leading media voice for restoring the Gulf of Mexico, North America’s most economically productive body of water.
It is our aim to return the Gulf of Mexico as closely as possible to a successful, self-sustaining ecosystem with both clean water and healthy habitats.

But it is also enriching us aesthetically, recreationally, culturally, historically and spiritually. Human beings have other appetites besides money. And if we don't feed them, we're not going to grow up…we're not going to become the kind of beings that our creator intended us to become."
